Happy birthday, sis. “Vet Vet.” 🎂

Today my sister turns 46.

Have a nice dinner, sis.

I been calling her Vet Vet since before I can remember why. Don’t matter how old the rest of us get, that name never changed and it ain’t about to.

Here’s what you need to understand about my sister. She’s the one everybody calls. Not just the family. The leaders in the family call her too. Something serious needs deciding, something needs a second opinion before it becomes a mistake, she’s one of the first numbers dialed. Every time. Ask anybody who knows us. That’s not me being nice for a birthday post. That’s just fact.

She helps people figure out where they going before they go there. Trips, decisions, timing, whatever it is. You call Vet Vet first and you save yourself the headache second.

There’s something I haven’t said. Not to her, not publicly. I wanted to be there for her wedding. I missed it. Life was life-ing at the time. I still carry that.

Now let me tell you what she actually does, because my sister ain’t just my sister, she’s a real entrepreneur, and she been in this a long time.

She runs her own event venue and design business. Thrones, backdrops, balloon work, the whole setup. Quinceañeras, proms, baby showers, grown folks’ birthdays like this one.

Pull up her TikTok before you read another line. Look at them thrones, that gold trim, that custom neon. Now tell me that looked cheap. It didn’t. 💰 And she gon’ charge you like it didn’t, too. 😂 That’s what happens when somebody actually sweats the details instead of throwing a balloon arch up and calling it a day.

I’ll give you one more thing about her, because it’s the truest thing I know. Every time I come through, she’s already looking at the flight, already looking at the rental car, already found the better deal before I even thought to check. I’m the one just grabbing whatever’s in front of me. She’s the one who already saved me a couple thousand dollars over the years just by paying attention when I wasn’t. She been doing that since before either one of us had money to be careless with.
