Post: I’m Recruiting People To Get Paid Off Something Nobody Has To Ship

Every morning I’m out the door before seven, headed to a sixteen story job site where I’m not even the lead right now. Somebody else is running that crew. I’m still there until three, still a licensed journeyman, still trading hours for a check the same way I’ve done for years in commercial HVAC. That’s the money that pays the bills today. It ain’t the only money moving though.

While I’m up on that building, something I put together weeks ago is still working. Nobody’s driving a truck to deliver it. Nobody’s in a warehouse pulling a box off a shelf for it. It just runs. And now I’m opening the door for other people to plug into that same thing, no cost to get in, no product to buy first.

This is the Astro Money Team. It’s my own affiliate program, built on my own site, and I want to walk you through exactly how it works, who it actually fits, and how you sign up if it does. Not a pitch. The mechanics.

Why I built this where I actually control it

Here’s something most people never think about. I sell shirts through ChessStrology on Shopify. I sell books through Amazon. Both of those move real money, and I’m proud of both. But if I set up an affiliate program tomorrow and somebody sent me a hundred buyers on those platforms, I’d have no clean way to prove it, track it, or pay them for it. That sale happens on somebody else’s platform, with somebody else’s tracking, or none at all.

Astrology readings are different. Those get sold and pulled entirely on chicagominded.com. I control the whole chain: the click, the sale, the payout. That’s the same zero-inventory model I’m already running with shirts I never touch, except now the product is a reading instead of a hoodie, and the affiliate can actually get credited and paid for sending somebody my way.

What “no inventory” actually means here

People hear “affiliate program” and picture warehouses, shipping labels, customer service calls about a late package. None of that exists on this end.

Somebody clicks your link. They buy a reading. A chart gets pulled and sent to them. Nobody packs a box. Nobody drives to a post office. The product is knowledge, delivered digitally, and it either helps somebody understand their own patterns or it doesn’t. That’s the whole fulfillment process.

The street version of this, if we’re being real

I grew up around a version of this that everybody already understands, even if nobody called it business. Somebody puts you onto a good barber. A good mechanic. A connect for whatever it is you needed that week. You vouch for them, they take care of you for sending business their way, and everybody eats. Nobody wrote a contract. Everybody understood the arrangement anyway.

The Astro Money Team is that same instinct, legal, tracked, and out in the open. You put somebody onto something that actually helped you. I pay you for it because you earned it, not because you know somebody or did me a favor off the books. Same principle the streets already taught you. Different paperwork.

A business you don’t control ain’t really yours. It’s just renting your name.

The two products people actually point their friends toward

You don’t need to memorize a catalog to do this. Two products carry most of the weight.

Your Birth Chart, the free astrology reading offered on Chicago Minded

The first is the free chart that gets somebody in the door. It costs the reader nothing, so there’s no wall between them and trying it. That’s usually the first link you’d actually share.

Compatibility Reading product, two charts read together

The second is two charts, one conversation, the compatibility reading. It’s the product that sells itself to couples instead of just individuals, and it connects straight back to why you keep having the same argument with the same person. People don’t want a horoscope. They want to understand somebody they’re already tangled up with. That’s a different kind of buyer, and it’s a bigger basket than a solo reading.

Here’s the part people mix up about what I’m actually selling. It ain’t fortune telling and it ain’t a prediction. When I talk about spirituality I’m talking about two people actually knowing each other, getting real about who they are instead of guessing. A chart is just a doorway into that conversation. That’s why the compatibility reading works better than almost anything else in the shop: it gives two people a reason to sit down and actually talk instead of arguing past each other for the hundredth time.

I’ll say this plainly because it needs saying: this is my own program, promoting my own products. I’m not hiding that. If it wasn’t obvious enough already, I built it, I run it, and I’m the one asking you to consider it.

This is one of my own videos on the twelve houses, the same framework behind every reading on the site. Watch it if you want to understand what you’d actually be recommending, not just selling it blind.

One honest catch before you send anybody your link

Every reading on this site needs a birth time. Not the month, not just the day, the actual time somebody was born. No time, no accurate chart, and I’m not going to sell somebody a guess dressed up like an answer. If you send somebody your link and they come back saying they don’t know their birth time, tell them straight: go pull it off their birth certificate, not their memory or what their mama thinks she remembers. It’s usually right there on the long form copy, and every state’s vital records office can mail a fresh one if the original walked off years ago. That one extra step weeds out a chunk of buyers before they ever get in the door, which is exactly why I’d rather you know it upfront than watch somebody get frustrated halfway through checkout.

The full time job that never left, and why it still matters here

I’m not writing this from some mountaintop where the hustle already paid off. I work a full time job, seven in the morning to three in the afternoon, Monday through Friday, in commercial HVAC. Paid holidays, two weeks of vacation I’m still accumulating more of. It’s steady, and it’s real money, and it ain’t nothing to be ashamed of.

But here’s my honest read on it. When you consider what you’re actually trading, the time for the check, that don’t mean nothing to me long term. It pays today’s bills. It doesn’t build anything that keeps working after I clock out. That’s the entire difference between the job and the Astro Money Team, and it’s the entire difference between motion and movement. The job is motion. Building something that runs without me standing over it, that’s movement.

Who this actually fits

This isn’t for somebody who stumbled onto a blog post and wants a quick side hustle they’ll abandon in a week. It’s for people already sharing things they use. Somebody who already talks about astrology with their friends. Somebody who already posts on social media and wants a reason worth mentioning. Somebody looking for the other income streams I already laid out for exactly this reason, without inventory, without a storefront, without a boss.

Picture the barber who’s already got an opinion on everybody’s life while he’s cutting their hair. The hairstylist who hears the whole relationship history before the color even sets. The rideshare driver who ends up in a real conversation with half his passengers. The cook on break scrolling his phone between tickets. None of them need a storefront or a following in the thousands. They already talk to people all day. This just gives that talking a link attached to it.

If that’s not you, that’s fine. Not everything is for everybody, and I’d rather tell you straight than have you sign up and never touch it.

Passing something good along and getting paid for it ain’t a hustle. It’s just good business.

How it actually works, no dressed up numbers

You apply, it costs nothing to apply, and you get a tracked link tied to your account. Somebody clicks it, buys a reading, and the sale gets credited to you. I’m not going to hand you a made up dollar figure or tell you this replaces a paycheck, because I don’t know your numbers and I wouldn’t trust anybody who claims to know them for you. What I can tell you is what it isn’t: it isn’t a job, it isn’t a salary, and it isn’t passive money that shows up whether you do anything or not. It’s a cut of a sale you actually helped happen.

I’d rather undersell this and have you find out it’s better than I said than oversell it and have you feel lied to in a month. That’s not how I want anybody finding out who I am.

Why would I even want other people repping something I built myself? Because I can’t be everywhere. I can’t have the conversation with every single person who needed to hear about a birth chart today. Somebody in your circle trusts you more than they trust a stranger’s blog post, and that trust is worth paying for. That’s not me being generous. That’s just math.

Does it cost anything to apply? No. Zero. If anybody ever asks you for money to join an affiliate program, that’s a scam, full stop, and it has nothing to do with how this one works.

What if you don’t have an audience? Then you’re not the person this is built for yet, and that’s fine too. Build the audience first, whatever that looks like for you, and come back when you’ve got somebody listening.

Where the whole thing connects

This isn’t a program bolted onto the side of the business. It’s part of the whole resource center I built for exactly this kind of thing, sitting next to the readings, the books, and everything else under Dig, Build, Grow. Dig for the knowledge. Build something real with it. Grow into a life you actually chose instead of one that just happened to you.

People ask me all the time how I keep track of a job site, a wife, four kids, a podcast, a Shopify store, and now an affiliate program, like I’ve got some secret system I’m holding back. I don’t. I just don’t let one thing sit idle while I build the next one. The Astro Money Team isn’t replacing anything I already had going. It’s one more piece running in the background while the rest of it keeps moving too.

If this is something you want to do, here’s the actual sign up page, five fields, no cost to apply. Not the login screen for people already in. The real form.

You can trade your hours or you can build something that works while you’re still at work. Right now I’m doing both, but only one of them is the plan.

I’m still on that job site at seven tomorrow morning. Still journeyman, still trading hours for a check on that one. But I’m also still digging, still building the thing that doesn’t need me standing over it every hour of the day. If you want to dig alongside me on this piece of it, the door’s open. If not, there’s a whole site full of other resources built for wherever you’re actually at.
